Empress Flowers
Our Empress Tree in the backyard is just full of these flowers right now. We really enjooy it’s display in Spring. It will soon be full of huge green leaves.

I have never heard of a tree like that,but it sure is pretty.

Ruth, thank you! It is a very unusual tree. We hadn’t heard of it either. It’s an Asian tree and the story of the tree said that a father would plant it when his daughter was born and when she married he would make her a Hope Chest from the wood. It grows like crazy. It’s covered in these flowers right now and the leaves are just starting to form. When the leaves are all the way out they are the size of dinner plates or larger! Neat tree!
