Here’s a couple of House Finches (Carpodacus mexicanus) The male on the left. Judging from their name they probably wish they were in Mexico right now!
Over the weekend we had a Winter storm that left us yesterday after long periods of freezing rain. Today with the Sun making an appearance the field and trees appear to be coated in glass and reflect the sun very nicely!
It makes me wonder what this little Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) is thinking as the snow falls around him! Probably yearning for warmer days! Me too!
The few remaining leaves on our Japanese Maple provide a nice contrast to the snow covered branches.
