Rain and Maple tree
A rainy day highlights the colours on a local Maple tree.
Here’s a couple of House Finches (Carpodacus mexicanus) The male on the left. Judging from their name they probably wish they were in Mexico right now!
Until recently we had three resident Eurasian-collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto) in our yard. They seem to enjoy the Sunflower seed and other types of seed. Recently this tree which is actually in a neighbours yard has been like this, daily. We have counted up to 17 in the tree. We feel quite honoured to have so many of these Doves close by!
…I couldn’t decide whether this is a bird shot or an Autumn shot. Lets do both: A Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia) sitting in a bare Lilac branch with a Maple in Fall colours for a background. I think that works!
