Birds Galore
The other day I posted a photo of this field with the Golden Ears Mountains highlighted against a rusty gate. Today this is the same field. No mountains today, as it’s rained all day. But, birds galore. This flock of Gulls, about 90 of them were sitting in the field until we drove up, then they took off. Also on the field were a bunch of ducks. Find the Mallards here! Also in the trees theres about 35 crows and over the other way a Bald Eagle. So it was productive!
Gull Time
As the sun sinks into the distant horizon the last light illuminates the water and the Gulls have a last fly before roosting for the night. Storm clouds threaten from the east with Blain, Washington in the background.
Sisters?
I usually have birds on my other blog, but I like this one so much. It’s a pair of House Finches. Females and juveniles. I’m sitting here thinking of different captions: Go South young lady, go south; there’s really good food over that way; etc. Add one if you like!
Hummer & Lucifer
Here’s a Hummer and a Lucifer. The Hummer is a Rufous Hummingbird female. The Plant is a Coocosmia Lucifer. I am completely enamoured with both of them. And I love this shot!
Birds of the Day
A pair of Eurasian Collared Doves jockey for position on a shepherds hook in our garden.
Such pretty birds!
