The Dove Tree
Until recently we had three resident Eurasian-collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto) in our yard. They seem to enjoy the Sunflower seed and other types of seed. Recently this tree which is actually in a neighbours yard has been like this, daily. We have counted up to 17 in the tree. We feel quite honoured to have so many of these Doves close by!
Peanut Monster
Here’s one of our regular visitors. He comes in for his daily feed of Sunflower seed and peanuts. I believe he is probably a juvenile. Mum had a bunch of Kits this summer and I think this is one of them.
All Fluffed Up
A White-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia leucophrys) first winter bird, keeping warm by fluffing up it’s feathers.
That Last Sip
One of our Anna’s Hummingbirds (Calypte anna) takes one last tour of the Cocosmia before the light is gone.
