This flower is from our Empress tree. The nut shaped item is a seed pod. The buds of these flowers have been on the tree since last fall. They suffered through the winter and have burst into hundreds of these bell shape flowers. Very Pretty!
The red leaves of a Maple tree behind our house dance in all directions against a soft wind.
A landscape image taken across the street from our house. The field has been unplanted for a few years and is slowly returning to nature. The yellow hue is from Buttercups. They have really taken off this spring
I generally don’t let the weather dictate what I do. If we did that, we’d all be housebound and stir crazy! We have another rainy day here, but I let this Japanese Maple in our yard, brighten my day. The raindrops enhance the leaves. This tree is really full of all these pretty red leaves!
Here’s a close up portrait of a Red-shafted Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus) busy at a Suet feeder in our yard. This is a male as you can tell by the Red on his neck. The female has no red.
